Congress of Democratic &Federalist

 Republicans

For freedom, justice, equality, and the distribution of power in the future of Iran

Introduction

The Congress of Democratic & Federalist Republicans is a collection of political and civil parties, groups, and activists that emerged from the experience of struggle in forming the broadest Republican coalition in the fight against the Islamic Republic regime.

This struggle has made possible the proximity and united action of two Republican factions: the Democratic-Republicans (opponents of federalism) and the Federal Democrats (supporters of federalism).

This very valuable theoretical experience or democratic model for the unity of action among Republicans, arising from the long years of dialogue and bargaining by supporters of these two intellectual tendencies or two political wings within the Republican movement.

Objectives

The ultimate goal of the Congress is to join with other coalitions, parties, organizations, and Republican political and civil activists to establish a strategic council (temporary parliament) to manage the transition period and the non-violent transition from the stage of overthrowing the Islamic Republic regime to the establishment of the Constituent Assembly. To achieve this ultimate goal, a two-stage strategy for the Congress is necessary.
                                                   Stage One:
Initiating bilateral or multilateral talks with coalitions, parties, organizations, and political and civil activists to create convergence, coordination, and create a joint program for the transition period

                                                      Stage Two:
Creating an appropriate platform based on recognized democratic criteria for establishing a strategic council (temporary parliament) to manage the transition period in coordination with all Republican political forces and according to previous planning

Why is it necessary for all Republican factions to cooperate?

Over the past decades, due to insufficient experience and lack of recognition of Republican tendencies, it has not been possible for the Republican opposition to form a broad political coalition and assert itself in the Iranian political scene. During this period, Republican movements operated like different islands, far from each other, and for this simple reason they could not become a capable and recognized alternative in Iranian society. Now, after years of experience, the Joint Congress, in an analysis of the actual situation, has reached a new model for creating a broader political coalition among Republicans. This new model is the acceptance of actually existing movements and the recognition of intellectual tendencies and political factions among Republicans, which will be able to bring all Republican tendencies together around a dynamic program and become one of the factors of political change (political alternative) in Iran.

«Our strength lies in accepting plurality in Iran.»

Iran, like any country, is diverse and pluralistic in every way. The reality is that each part of this plurality injects a specific energy into society and seeks a response to its demands in return. Pluralism in Iran actually demands pluralistic participation. Therefore, eliminating and denying part of this plurality is actually denying society’s participation with part of it. This means ignoring justice, ignoring human needs, and ultimately weakening society. Continuing this approach will ultimately lead to polarization in society and will impose social decline on the country. Therefore, paying attention to pluralism means increasing empowerment in society. Iran’s political society is also very pluralistic. Without accepting this plurality, empowerment in the political arena will also be impossible. Pluralistic democracy is precisely the way and method to respond to the pluralistic need in Iran. Without a pluralistic democracy, achieving the hopes and aspirations of the people will also be impossible. The ethnic diversity (Baloch, Turk, Kurd, Persian, Arab, Turkmen, Gilak, Mazi, etc.) in Iran is not a threat but a golden opportunity for the progress and development of Iran and a great opportunity for this country to become the capital of the Middle East in the event of democratization in the countries of the Middle East.
May Iran also see that day.
